Free Pomodoro Study Timer

Use the free Study Timer to organize focused study sessions, take regular breaks, play white noise, and keep study records directly in your browser.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a simple time-management method that divides work into focused sessions and short breaks. A common starting pattern is 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break.

After several focus sessions, you can take a longer break. The exact duration does not need to be fixed. Adjust the timer to match your subject, attention span, and study environment.

How to use this study timer

  1. Select Pomodoro mode or the general timer.
  2. Set your preferred focus and break durations in Settings.
  3. Choose a white-noise sound when background audio helps you focus.
  4. Press Start and work on one clearly defined task.
  5. When the session ends, step away briefly before beginning again.

Choosing a focus duration

Twenty-five minutes is a useful starting point, but it is not a universal rule. Short sessions such as 10 or 15 minutes may help when you are tired or beginning a difficult task. Longer sessions of 40 to 60 minutes may suit reading, writing, coding, or practice tests that require deeper concentration.

Pomodoro timer or general timer?

Pomodoro mode alternates automatically between focus and break periods. The general timer is useful when you want to measure one continuous study session without following a fixed cycle.

Using white noise while studying

White noise and nature sounds can reduce the impact of irregular background sounds. Keep the volume low enough that it supports your concentration rather than becoming the main focus.

Where are study records stored?

Study records and timer settings are stored locally in your browser. They are not automatically uploaded to an account or server. Clearing browser data or changing devices may remove the records, so use the backup feature when you need to move them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the 25-minute focus period?

Yes. Open Settings and choose focus, short-break, and long-break durations that suit your study routine.

Does the timer work with the browser in the background?

The timer calculates time from the target completion time, helping it remain accurate when you return to the tab. Browser notifications depend on your browser settings and permission.
